When I first entered my new home, I was extremely happy. I’d been able to see the house take shape during the building phase and I really enjoyed watching the house come together, so it was great to see it all finished.

I wanted to buy a new house because I didn’t want to deal with the maintenance issues associated with buying an old one. I also wanted to ensure that the build was of a high quality, plus, when you buy a new house, you can put your own stamp on the style which makes it much more personal!

This is actually the second house I’ve bought with Oakmere. The sales process went very well each time and the team really exceeded my expectations.

I love my new house, but there are two areas which really strike me as favourites: the kitchen is at the front, so I can watch the world go by. The other area is the lounge – which is a really good size and looks out to my garden, which is not overlooked, so it’s a very relaxing and private area.

The design of the house is also special. More specifically, I really like the flow of the rooms; moving between spaces is natural and easy. I like that the doors are wide and everything is so spacious and well thought out. It’s a pleasure to live in. When people come to visit me, they are so complimentary – the house is well finished, inside and out – every detail has been thought through.

Another perk of buying a home with Oakmere was that I was able to make choices about the finish in my house. I met with Lakeland Kitchens to get exactly the kitchen I wanted. They are a local company, which I really liked, offering great advice and with a real commitment to good service. It made the whole process of putting my own stamp on the house easy and pleasurable.

Even if you choose to buy with a wholly reputable company, there still can be a few minor issues and Oakmere really went out of their way to solve a couple of snags, always being courteous and helpful. It’s made the whole process very straight forward.

Now that I’ve had such a pleasant experience with Oakmere, people I know have also been following suit! In fact, my sister has bought an Oakmere home in Bolton-le-Sands as well. I feel respected as a customer of theirs and would highly recommend them. Moving home is always going to be a little bit stressful but they really went out of their way to help, so yes, I would definitely recommend Oakmere to anyone!
